Here's a timeline of Steve's accomplishments:
- He was born in 1945 and raised in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia.
- He became a journalism major at Temple University.
- He graduated magna cum laude and was named an Outstanding Journalism Graduate at Temple University.
- In early 1969, Sansweet became a reporter for the Wall Street Journal.
- He became the Journal’s Los Angeles Bureau Chief in 1987.
- In 1996, he became Director of Specialty Marketing at Lucasfilm Ltd.
- Sansweet turned his love of the Star Wars saga into a second career, acting as Lucasfilm's liaison to fans worldwide, and their liaison to the company. He did presentations at well over 100 conventions in the U.S. and many more internationally.
- Steve has written or co-authored 19 books, 17 of them on Star Wars.
- Rancho Obi-Wan was originally established in 1998, displaying Sansweet's privately-owned Star Wars collection.
- In October 2011, Rancho Obi-Wan, Inc. was founded as a California nonprofit public benefit corporation to manage the collection.
- Rancho Obiwan serves the public through the collection, conservation, exhibition and interpretation of Star Wars memorabilia and artifacts.
